
(ConservativeHub.com) – Mike Turner the Police Chief in Hiram, Georgia revealed that a shooting on September 20 at the Walmart Super Center which resulted in two deaths is believed to have been a murder-suicide. According to the police chief, the two deceased people, one man and one woman, had previously been in a relationship.
Turner stated that currently, it appears that the two parties knew each other and that this was not the case of an active shooter. He further noted that the two individuals had been in a kind of relationship.
According to reports, the two people were found suffering from their gunshot wounds. They were then taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Turner stated that the next of kin of the two individuals were notified about the incident, but he did not provide details about the identities of the deceased at the time. The people have since been identified as James Wyatt Norton, 26, and Zoey Nicole Messenger, 20. He further stated that the woman was considered to be the victim in this case while the man is believed to have been the assailant.
The chief further pointed out that this incident instilled fear in many people. He added that this was the type of incident that would have occurred wherever the two people had met and that even if there was an officer at the Walmart, he would most likely not have been able to prevent this situation.
Witnesses revealed to FOX 5 Atlanta that after hearing the shots being fired, they evacuated the store. One witness, Devani Lopez, stated that upon hearing the shots, she ran for the store’s exit. She added that the people around her were panicked and terrified.
