(ConservativeHub.com) – People adopt children for many reasons, but there’s a belief those who adopt typically do so with goodness in their hearts. However, occasionally, adoptive parents do more harm than good. Such was reportedly the case of two little boys in Bakersfield, California.
This week, police arrested and charged adoptive parents Jacqueline and Trezell West for allegedly their sons, 3-year-old Orson and 4-year-old Orrin. In December 2021, they reported the boys missing, saying they disappeared while playing in the backyard. The call sparked a huge search and rescue effort.

This case is very unique, though, because there are no bodies. In fact, the district attorney in the case, Cynthia Zimmer say the murders happened three months prior to the couple reporting the children missing. The evidence and case facts haven’t been released, so what led to the allegations against the Wests is still unknown.
After hearing testimony from over 50 witnesses, a grand jury decided to indict the Wests on several charges, including two counts of willful cruelty to a child, second-degree murder and a single charge of a false report of an emergency.
Jailers are holding the couple without bail. On Thursday, the Wests were arraigned on the charges against them, but pleaded not guilty to the murders. They also have four other children, two of whom are biological. All are in protective custody.
