Army Member Dies in Devastating Helicopter Crash

( – When a soldier goes overseas to fight an enemy, they put their life on the line for the sake of their country. However, everyone in the military also knows stateside training has taken a few lives. In a devastating incident, a 26-year old Army soldier died in an accident involving a helicopter at Fort Stewart, Georgia, last week.

Around 2 a.m. on March 30, two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed on the airfield at Fort Stewart in southeast Georgia. The Army is waiting to disclose details of the occurrence until both the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the US Army Combat Readiness Center investigate the scene. However, the 3rd Infantry Division announced soldiers found Captain James T. Bellew of Charlottesville, Virginia, dead at the accident site.

NBC12 anchor Anthony Antoine shared a photo of the fallen soldier:

Bellow served in the Army since 2017, starting as a Field Medical Assistant until the military promoted him to an Aeromedical Evaluation Officer in 2019. A commander close to Bellow told Georgia’s WJCL News that the young man “was constantly helping and saving the lives of others.”

It’s unknown when additional details on this incident will drop. In the meantime, we wish Bellow’s family and friends all the best during this heart-wrenching time.
