(ConservativeHub.com) – Police arrested an armed man wearing a ski mask blocks away from the Fiserv Forum, where the RNC was held this past week.

On Monday, July 15, an armed man carrying an AK-47 pistol and wearing a ski mask was arrested.

According to reports, the arrest was made as Capitol Police and Homeland Security Investigators were carrying out surveillance near the perimeter of the Republican National Convention. They noticed a suspicious man, wearing a ski mask and carrying a tactical bag, approaching.

Inside the bag, police discovered the AK-47 pistol and a full magazine.

Milwaukee Police have since confirmed the incident, revealing an unnamed 21-year-old man had been arrested at about 1pm on July 15 at the 1200 block of N. 11th Street.

The man’s motive is unclear, and charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, police shot and killed a man two miles from the Fiserv Forum. According to eyewitness reports, the man, who resided at a homeless camp, had been brandishing a knife when he was fatally shot.

GOP Rep. Derrick Van Orden also accused a protester of assaulting him on Tuesday.

The GOP Representative claimed a member of CODEPINK assaulted him as he was standing in line to enter the venue, describing what occurred as an “incident of political violence.”

However, CODEPINK rejected claims that Orden had been assaulted, stating the woman he accused was “intentionally bumped” by a “bald, white member of Congress” while he attempted to “shove past her.”

The reports came as the RNC’s theme on Tuesday was “Make America Safe Once Again.”
