(ConservativeHub.com) – Investigations can take months or even years to come to a satisfying conclusion. Yet, one California family has waited over a decade just to understand what happened to their father after he went missing in 2006. Now, they’re starting to get some answers after authorities identified his remains.
In 2006, a family member saw 69-year-old David Virgil Neily for the last time in the small, coastal California town of Albion. After his family reported him missing, police officers found his car nearby in Westport but couldn’t locate his body.
However, in May 2020, a worker at a private nature reserve near Westport, California, stumbled upon human remains and reported them to the police. After extracting DNA evidence, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on Saturday, November 13, saying the remains belonged to David Neily.
The New York Post shared a photo of Neily on Twitter:

Although investigators didn’t find any evidence of foul play, Neily’s daughter is still asking for answers. Understandably, she wants to know just what happened to him, saying, “His life is just as important as anyone else.” Hopefully, the sheriff’s office can provide more closure in this case so Neily’s family can move on with some measure of peace.
