Biden Mulling DISASTROUS Option – Will It Be Just Another Gift To China?
(ConservativeHub.com) – Inflation hit a 40-year high this spring and hasn’t shown signs of letting up any time soon. So, Americans are looking to their president for a little relief when making ends meet and keeping food on the table. President Joe Biden is reportedly considering easing some Trump-era tariffs on China to bring costs down.
On Sunday, June 5, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” She confirmed reports the Biden administration asked her to analyze the effects of removing some tariffs on Chinese goods. However, the prospect doesn’t excite everyone. Kim Glas, CEO of the National Council of Textile Organizations, spoke out against the potential move back in May, saying it would “reward China” without addressing inflation.

A June 6 Axios article reports that labor unions are also asking the Biden administration to keep tariffs in place, emphasizing they help create US manufacturing jobs. The White House already decided it wouldn’t remove tariffs on steel and aluminum industries, but the move is much more likely to focus on household goods and bicycles that are cheaper to import from China than produce stateside.
