(ConservativeHub.com) – President Biden has spent almost two months undoing Donald Trump’s work to secure the nation’s southern border. Things have gotten so bad that migrants now wear t-shirts and wave signs reading “Biden, Please Let Us In!” at the border separating Tijuana and California.
The one thing Biden won’t do about the border is to admit there’s a crisis. Despite that lack of candor, though, the administration has announced its intention to deploy the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the Mexican border.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) quietly announced the decision in a press release issued on Saturday, March 13. It explained that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas directed FEMA to assist a “government-wide effort” to address the overwhelming number of unaccompanied migrant children arriving daily at the nation’s southwest border.
More than 8,000 migrant children reside in Health and Human Services shelters, and the number of unaccompanied children arriving daily at the border is putting unsustainable pressure on the system. Nearly 4,000 juvenile detainees have already overflowed into detention centers run by Border Patrol officials for adults.
Donald Trump did his best to deter unaccompanied children from coming to the nation’s border. Joe Biden is deploying emergency workers to the border to address a situation he won’t even admit is a crisis. Welcome to the new administration’s take on “America First.”
