( – On Monday, June 24, the Biden campaign posted a video marking two years since the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court, while also highlighting that former President Donald Trump has been taking the credit for this.

In the video, President Joe Biden quoted a Truth Social post by the former President from May 2023. He said Trump boasted, “I was able to kill Roe v. Wade” following “50 years of failure.” According to Biden, multiple SCOTUS justices chosen by Trump helped strike down the Roe v. Wade decision, which he said amounted to “decades of progress shattered.” The 45-second video was released by the Biden campaign on the Dobbs anniversary.

During the video, Biden also went on to say that Roe v. Wade was only “the beginning” and that the GOP would continue by targeting IVF treatment and birth control. He argued that they would also push for an abortion ban that covers the whole nation.

Biden continued by stating that they are moving up “against extremism.” He promised that if he wins a second term in office, he will fight in order to ensure that American freedoms continue to be protected and that Roe v. Wade is restored.

In the last two years, reproductive rights have been at the center of the political sphere following the Supreme Court’s choice to strike down Roe v. Wade. This has also resulted in some states restricting abortions while others have sought to protect abortion rights.

Trump has boasted in the past about the overturning of Roe v. Wade, but he rather than calling for a federal ban, he has expressed support for leaving the issue of abortion up to the states.
