(ConservativeHub.com) – On Tuesday, May 14, UnidosUS Action Fund became the biggest Latino civil rights group to give President Biden its endorsement in the 2024 presidential race.
The group’s president Janet Murguía stated recently during a press conference that Latino voters had a “clear choice.” She expressed her belief that with Biden, they would continue to move forward towards a better future. She also said that if former President Donald Trump wins back the White House, then they would need to deal with policies that have a negative impact on Latino families. According to her, the nation cannot “afford” to travel backwards.
Apart from endorsing Biden, the group also endorsed Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) who is running in the Senate race against likely Republican candidate Kari Lake, who had previously failed to win the state’s gubernatorial race.
Murguía said during a press conference that they could not afford to lose this presidential election and that they needed to do everything possible to re elect Vice President Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. She also stressed that Biden and Harris cannot “fight these battles” and continue moving forward alone. In addition, she said that the president and vice president needed to have elected officials in Congress who held the same values and were working for solutions and progress.
Back in April, a New York Times/Siena College poll showed that Biden has 50 percent support among Hispanic voters. Meanwhile, the poll showed that Trump had 41 percent support within the same group.
