( – On Wednesday, December 13, President Joe Biden slammed the House Republicans over their impeachment inquiry looking into his business activities with his son Hunter Biden, and argued that the situation at the southern border would need to be addressed as a high number of migrants continue to enter through the border.

The White House released a statement from Biden shortly after the House GOP formally approved the impeachment inquiry against the President. In the letter, Biden said that the American people needed those they had elected in Congress to take action and handle some of the issues that are important to the nation and Ukraine. He proceeded to note that Congress should be paying more attention to the border, the U.S. economy, and the wars in Israel and Ukraine.

Biden also said that he was determined to find a solution to the issues at the border. He added that additional funding to strengthen the U.S. border was necessary and that the Congress GOP would not take any action that could help.

Fox News reported that the GOP has long pushed for additional border measures, and that members of the party have argued that the situation at the border and the high number of encounters were putting the country at more security risk due to authorities’ inability to properly screen all the migrants.

Recently, the Senate in a 49-51 vote to issue billions of dollars in security and military aid to Israel, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific did not move forward as the Republicans were pushing for President Biden to pay more attention to the border.
