However, his role as conservator of his daughter’s finances finally came to an abrupt end on Wednesday, September 29, as the result of a court ruling. The following Monday, the pop star took to her Twitter account to thank her many fans.
Britney wrote words couldn’t express her appreciation for her supporters’ “constant resilience” in ridding her of the burden of her father’s conservatorship. Continuing, she said she cried the previous night for two hours at the realization she had the best fans.

Spears will remain under a conservatorship for the time being as part of her lawyer’s strategy to hold her father accountable for his alleged misuse of her financial resources.
Britney Spears’ attorney told the court his client wanted a new conservator for now. Under applicable laws, that move forces Britney’s father to turn over all financial records to the new conservator, opening the door for an audit or other means of legal scrutiny over his handling of the star’s money.
Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, indicated he would file a motion to permanently end her conservatorship later in the fall, opening the door for her to manage her own finances and other personal affairs for the first time in over a decade.
