(ConservativeHub.com) – On July 3, USA Today published a piece about multiple dogs. One of them is Jack, a dog who takes part in all the ordinary activities you’d expect a dog to do — only, he lives at a hotel and has become an icon there. On most days, Jack can be found on the second-floor balcony of the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, a boutique hotel in Waikiki.

Lynette Eastman, the general manager of the hotel and Jack’s owner, revealed that the hotel was the 3-year-old French and English bulldog mix’s domain and that he had spent his entire life living in the second-floor suite. She said that the dog has become the mascot of the hotel and everyone who goes to the hotel knows to say hi to the dog.

The hotel is one of the few boutique hotels to accept pets without any fees or restrictions on what type of pet it is, the size of the pet, or the number of animals. Surfjack even has a pet photographer who helps ensure that the people on the property are able to capture all of the memories with their pets.

The Surfjack Hotel manages to capture an important demographic — dog lovers who do not want to leave their pets at home. Since the opening of the hotel in 2016, it had always been the intention that the Surfjack would have a mascot, but the right dog was not found by Eastman until 2020 after the global health emergency began.

Eastman helped bring a very positive energy to the property, especially during a time when Eastman’s husband was having a few health problems.
