(ConservativeHub.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has responded to the recent criticisms he has faced from some potential would-be rivals of his for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, according to The Hill.

During a February 20 appearance on “Fox & Friends,” DeSantis said that office holders who are not truly doing anything are not criticized and that they just “fly under the radar.” He continued to say that was not the case for those who were leading and putting forth their agendas. He added that this was not only true in Florida, but across the nation. However, he also noted that since people were not “firing at” him, then he must be performing his job well.

While DeSantis has not yet announced his decision on whether or not he will be joining the 2024 presidential race, many are speculating that he is preparing for his presidential campaign. His leading position in many hypothetical polls has also resulted in him frequently being targeted by other presidential hopefuls, The Hill reported.

Former President Donald Trump has frequently criticized DeSantis. In addition, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan recently targeted what he called “authoritarian” policies from the Florida leader. Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, who announced her 2024 presidential campaign last week, also recently criticized DeSantis’ controversial Parental Rights in Education Act. The Act, which has been dubbed by some as “Don’t Say Gay,” bans all instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity for all children up to the third grade. Haley claimed that this policy did not go “far enough.”

Do you think that DeSantis will ultimately announce a bid for the presidency?
