Donald Trump Backs Search and Rescue Operation With Generous Donation

(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump has remained relatively quiet since departing Washington DC the morning of January 20. He does pop up now and again, though, like he did last week when he appeared for his first on-camera interview since leaving office.

Louisiana ABC-affiliate KATC-C reported on April 23 that Trump donated $10,000 to aid the search and rescue efforts for a group of Seacorp Power crew members in the Gulf of Mexico. Their lift boat capsized during a severe storm on April 13, about eight miles from Louisiana’s Port Fourchon.

Nineteen crew members were on board when the boat sank. So far, six men have been rescued, and a local coroner’s office confirmed six died. The remaining seven men are still missing.

The United Cajun Navy is using Trump’s donation to pay for fuel for the ongoing search efforts. They are an informal group of small boat operators that have spearheaded rescue efforts in the Gulf of Mexico since Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the missing crew members and their families. We will update you on further developments.
