(ConservativeHub.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social on Friday, June 30, to speak against the probe into his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. The post closely resembled the one he had made days before his indictment in Manhattan earlier this year.
In the recent post, Trump called Fani Willis, the District Attorney in Atlanta, racist and proceeded to state that the area has the worst per capita crime rates in the country. He then claimed that Willis is going to be filing charges against him without any evidence, while murderers can “get away with murder” in the city. He proceeded to proclaim his innocence and suggested that the allegations against him are a “scam.”
Two years ago, Willis launched an investigation into Trump following the revelation that he had called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to instruct him to “find” the more than 11,000 votes necessary for the election results to be overturned so that Trump and not Joe Biden could win the state. Following the revelations about the infamous call, the investigation in Georgia has expanded and is looking into the efforts to overturn the election by Trump’s associates. It’s also focused on the alleged fake elector scheme and the attempts to harass election workers and attempt to have unauthorized individuals handle the voting machines.
Trump has maintained that he is innocent in this case. If he is indicted in connection to this investigation, it will be Trump’s third indictment in recent months. He has both state and federal indictments that he is currently facing. The first one relates to the Manhattan district attorney’s office investigation into a hush money payment he was allegedly involved in. The federal indictment relates to the Department of Justice investigation into his alleged mishandling of classified documents.
