Truth Social from Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) went live in Apple’s App Store on February 20. Previously available for select members during beta testing, the social media platform welcomed everyone else just in time for President’s Day. The app became the number one free download as soon as it went live.

Some users had issues accessing the app, reporting errors or a message about being on a waitlist when trying to register. According to the Truth Social website, “user creation is currently rate-limited during our rollout.” TMTG promised to increase capacity over the day to allow more sign-ups. The status update report also showed a partial outage on launch day, which likely also led to issues for users.

The new social media platform, similar to Twitter, markets itself as a free speech platform, where users can express themselves without fearing censorship. According to CEO Devin Nunes, the goal is to have the platform fully functional in the US by the end of March.

Truth Social is available on the Apple App store, but not just yet on Google Play. Users can also download it from
