(ConservativeHub.com) – Aides to former President Barack Obama have warned about President Joe Biden’s advanced age, arguing that it was an issue, especially considering how “frail” and “mumbly” he appeared to be. They said that there was a big difference between Biden now and the way that he had been during his time serving as Obama’s vice president.
Obama’s main speechwriter Jon Favreau argued during a recent episode of the “Pod Save America” podcast that if people watched how Biden spoke now, they would see that he sounds a lot more “frail” now than he had in 2019 and 2020. Favreau added that Biden will often shuffle due to the arthritis in his back and that he seems to be “mumbly.”
In his comment, he mentioned how recent polls have found that as much as 80 percent of Americans were concerned about the age of the current President. He argued that the White House needs to directly address the issue because of the decline occurring right in front of voters across the US.
Favreau also said that despite his gaffes and stumbles, Biden needes to be in front of the camera a lot more in order to reassure voters that he has what it takes to serve another term. He argued that Biden is not “out there enough forcefully” and that people are getting worried as a result.
In a different interview, former Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer also said that he was concerned about Biden’s age and that if Biden cannot get the support of his 2020 voters, then he will not be able to win the election. He said that he believes Biden’s main priority in his campaign should be easing the public’s worries about his age.
