He’s GUILTY – Illegal Spying Operation Revealed!
(ConservativeHub.com) – The amount of information Big Tech companies can access on Americans who use their platforms is enormous. From scrolling habits and interests to email addresses and even physical locations, it’s no surprise that the demand for privacy in the internet age is becoming more intense. But, that didn’t stop one ex-Twitter employee from using his access to spy on behalf of Saudi Arabia a few years ago.
From 2013 to 2015, US citizen Ahmad Abouammo, 44, spied on Twitter users for Saudi Arabia while working as a media partnership manager for the company’s Middle East region. In 2019, a prosecutor charged him with working as an agent without registering with the US government.
On Tuesday, August 9, a San Fransisco jury found Abouammo guilty on six counts. The charges included conspiracy to commit wire fraud, falsification of records, and money laundering. The jury acquitted him of five additional counts of wire fraud. The judge is allowing him to remain free until he hands down his sentence.

Abouammo provided the crown prince with private user data in exchange for cash and a watch. The FBI is still searching for two other men involved with the scheme who have most likely already fled the country.
This conviction marks the first time prosecutors convicted someone of spying for Saudi Arabia, adding a bit of tension to the already slightly strained relationship between the two nations.
