(ConservativeHub.com) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is taking legal action against a passenger of American Airlines who had allegedly tried to leave by opening the front cabin door mid-flight. Reports say the flight attendants were forced to duct tape the 34-year-old woman to her seat.

San Antonio’s Heather Wells, the woman in question, allegedly spat at and kicked not only crew members but also other passengers during the flight from Dallas to Charlotte, North Carolina on July 6, 2021. The plane had faced a three hour delay before it departed after midnight.

TikTok user @lol.ariee posted footage from the incident which features the gray-haired woman shouting “You!” repeatedly while different passengers exited the flight. The flight attendants could also be seen calmly nodding their heads goodbye.

The FAA had previously fined Wells in 2022 for $81,950 in civil penalties. However, it seems she never paid the fines. U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza is now filing a lawsuit in an attempt to have the money collected from the woman.

In the filing, it is noted that Wells had wanted to leave the plane after drinking a neat Jack Daniels. She then allegedly proceeded to run to the front of the plane and grab the front cabin door handle. Legal filings indicate she continued by talking to other passengers incoherently and even threatened a flight attendant who tried to intervene. It’s said that the woman then tried to open the front door while yelling profanities which resulted in her being restrained. At one point, the unruly passenger was both bound and gagged in order to control her outbursts. The lawsuit stated she ultimately had to be sedated so that police and medics could remove her from the flight.
