FBI Says Alec Baldwin Must Have Pulled Trigger of Gun that Killed Cinematographer

Movie Set DEATH – Feds Release Critical Report!

(ConservativeHub.com) – In a December ABC News interview, actor Alec Baldwin said he never pulled the trigger on the gun that killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie “Rust” in October 2021. He’s maintained that position ever since. But on August 12, ABC News obtained the recently completed FBI investigation report about the incident, and it says the only way the firearm could have gone off is if someone pulled the trigger.

The Unfortunate End of a Promising Life

The fatal event occurred during the filming of the low-budget movie produced by Baldwin in New Mexico. Hutchins, a cinematographer, was setting up a shot while the actor stood outside the scene. He was rehearsing, which involved pointing the gun at the camera, where the woman stood. Baldwin claims the firearm went off on its own, striking and killing her and injuring filmmaker Joel Sousa.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and began an investigation. The FBI assisted with forensics.

The Report

The federal agency conducted various firearm tests to determine if it could potentially fire without pulling the trigger, as Baldwin claimed. According to AP, they found no way that the gun could have fired without someone pulling the trigger as long as “working internal components were intact and functional.” During analysis, they found that the firearm must have been in normal working order when Baldwin used it. However, the reportedly did manage to get the gun to fire inappropriately when the “trigger sear and cylinder stop fractured” during testing.

Responses to the Findings

On Monday, the medical investigator in the case released a report that determined the shooting to be accidental. However, reports suggest that prosecutors have yet to decide whether or not they will seek any charges.

Baldwin’s attorney, Luke Nikas, claimed that the FBI’s report has been misunderstood, according to The Daily Mail. He said that when they tested the gun, they were only able to get the gun to fire once, because “hammer was pulled back” and multiple components of the gun broke. He claimed that was the only time they even managed to fire the gun because it was in “poor condition.”

The attorney and other Baldwin supporters have argued that it was not the actor’s fault regardless of what the investigation showed because it was not his responsibility to check the gun’s chamber was clear. The armorer on set, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, has faced increased scrutiny since the incident.

Gutierrez Reed’s attorney claims she lacked the training to do her job, blaming the producers, including Baldwin, for putting her in a position that led to safety risks on set. He also criticized Baldwin, saying the FBI report shows the actor has been lying since the incident happened.

Some have criticized the actor for allegedly not being honest about what occurred that day. The evidence from the FBI brought comments on social media from those who say they knew he wasn’t telling the truth because guns do not go off without pulling the trigger.

Sante Fe detectives continue to work the case and are still obtaining evidence. The district attorney has not signed off on the matter and could potentially still bring charges.

Do you think Baldwin should be held responsible for the incident?
