(ConservativeHub.com) – The Democratic Party is experiencing unprecedented shifts in the wake of President Joe Biden’s crumbling approval ratings, a mounting immigration crisis, and economic turmoil. A former Washington-based Democrat decided he’d had enough and moved to switch teams.
Victor Jimenez, a former spokesperson for DC Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), sat down with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on December 1 to discuss his recent decision to become a Republican. Jimenez told Carlson the decision to leave wasn’t easy. But he “had to leave.”

Carlson asked Jimenez what prompted his departure from the Democratic Party.
Jimenez responded a combination of factors played a role. First, he honed in on immigration issues, which he said are “affecting a lot of Hispanic families” in his home state of Virginia. He explained people are already struggling to make ends meet, and the influx of thousands of immigrants doesn’t help.
Echoing former President Donald Trump’s remarks on the 2016 campaign trail, Jimenez said there are a lot of “bad people” with ill intentions running from the law in their own countries crossing into the United States.
The former Democratic spokesperson also pointed to the economic ruin suffered by the US since Biden’s January inauguration. The president is “completely destroying the economy,” and the American people are suffering the consequences of his failed policies.
Jimenez joins the growing number of people fleeing the Democratic Party. It will be interesting to see if Democratic voters respond similarly in the upcoming midterm elections, or if they decide to stay at home instead of voting.
