Trump Attorney Says DeSantis Should Stay in His Place
(ConservativeHub.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) had a massive victory on election night, winning his race by almost a 20% margin. His success also played out through converting what was once a critical swing state into a clear Republican stronghold. Additionally, his performance increased speculation surrounding the possibility of his as the GOP presidential nominee in 2024.
Yet, not everyone in the party wants DeSantis to make his way up. Former President Donald Trump has expressed his disdain for DeSantis, slamming him in a speech just days before the midterms. One of the former Commander-in-Chief’s attorneys, Alina Habba, even told reporters from Right Side Broadcasting Network at a Trump rally that the governor needs to stay in Florida because he’s not ready for a presidential run. She also said the Florida politician would be nothing without Trump.

Trump revealed he has an announcement to make on November 15, but he still has yet to confirm whether or not he’s running for the presidency in 2024. Some feel he’s no longer the best person to represent the GOP. Still, the former POTUS retains a base of voters within the party.
Meanwhile, some media outlets and other public figures are touting the Florida governor as the 2024 frontrunner and saying that he has surpassed Trump to become the party’s favorite candidate. One Fox News contributor opined last week that DeSantis had become “the new Republican Party leader.”
