(ConservativeHub.com) – On Sunday, Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) stated that the GOP needs a new leader at the helm. During an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Cramer continued to say that former President Donald Trump would not “take advice from the party or me,” but if he ends up being indicted then that could affect whether or not he will have a successful run and win the primaries. He added that who is part of the race could also affect who the winner will be.

During his interview, he continued by arguing that the most important thing for voters to consider is not only which candidate they “love the most,” but also which one can pull through with a win. He noted that the Republican party is in “desperate need of some new leadership.”

While Trump was still in office, Cramer had been one of his allies. However, in his recent appearance, he spoke about other potential presidential candidates including, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), previous Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and former Vice President Mike Pence, all of whom have yet to announce whether or not they would be launching a presidential campaign.

Cramer said regarding all three that they would work as candidates who have an understanding of the “Trump doctrine,” but would have a greater chance with more moderate or conflicted voters. However, he also pointed out that a very crowded presidential primary could still lead to problems.
