GOP Member SLAMS Dems’ Push for Electric Cars

These sky-high numbers continue to put extra pressure on American wallets as inflation leaves no sector untouched, from groceries to rent. One GOP Senator understands how much his constituents are hurting and called out President Joe Biden and the Democrats for their continued push for electric vehicles, which he says cost more than many Americans make in a year.
On Wednesday, June 8, Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) spoke with Fox News reporter John Roberts about the White House’s push for electric vehicles. He argued that making every vehicle in America electric simply “cannot be done” and called it a “great fantasy of the Democrats.”
Barrasso went so far as to encourage Americans to purchase electric generators rather than electric cars as it seems some states, including California, might be unable to keep up with energy demands this summer.
On Tuesday, June 14, the Senate GOP held a press conference where Barrasso reiterated his stance on this topic, calling Democrats out for their “smug superiority:”
Then, on Sunday, June 19, Barrasso spoke on the WABC 770 AM radio show with John Catsimatidis about how to prioritize spending for Americans right now. He believes the Biden administration is discouraging people from purchasing a house, proven to build wealth over time, to focus on buying electric cars instead.
Barrasso’s concerns bring up a big question: how can anyone expect them to shell out over $50,000 for a new electric car when the price of groceries, rent, and everyday outings continue to rise?
