(ConservativeHub.com) – According to The Hill, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is successfully gaining traction with some of his GOP coworkers on the possibility of a 2024 presidential run. Apparently, some of the other Senators have even been urging him to join the presidential race.

The Hill interviewed around 12 Senate Republicans. Among them, Sens. John Thune (SD), Mike Rounds (SD) and John Cornyn (R-TX) all revealed that they have encouraged Scott to join the race. Sens. Kevin Cramer (ND) and Shelley Moore Capito (WV) also indicated that they have discussed with Scott the possibility of him running privately, while all the other senators spoke positively about Scott joining the race.

Thune in particular told the Hill that Scott was a good choice for a candidate and that he was “encouraging him” to join the race. He added that Scott has been receiving quite a few words of encouragement from other Senators. He said that he would be a very interesting presidential candidate to watch.

According to The Hill, Scott is thought of as an incredibly influential figure in the Senate due to his role in the Senate Banking Committee and his stance on on criminal justice and policing.

Rounds is also a really big supporter of Scott in the US Senate and has also stated that he would support him if he launched a presidential bid.

On April 4, Scott revealed that he is planning to travel to both Iowa and South Carolina next week. The Hill also reported that an unnamed source said Scott is coming close to reaching a decision on his 2024 plans.
