Government Official Dies Mysteriously in Iran

Reuters reported on May 4 that a gardener found a Swiss diplomat’s body on the grounds of her apartment building shortly after an employee of the Swiss Embassy noticed she was missing. A Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed that an employee of its Tehran embassy died due to an accident but did not name the deceased person.

Mojtaba Khaledi, a spokesperson for Iran’s emergency services, told local media that the deceased person was the Swiss Embassy’s First Secretary. According to him, authorities hadn’t determined the reason for her fall yet.
