(ConservativeHub.com) – A total of 55 Hollywood A-listers, including Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett and Joaquin Phoenix and comedian Jon Stewart, sent an open letter to President Joe Biden and other world leaders last week pushing for them to push for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
In the letter, the group wrote that they were calling for the conflict to be de-escalated and for there to be a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Gaza before any more lives were lost. In the time since the start of the conflict, there have been more than 5,000 deaths. They said they all believed “all life is sacred” regardless of ethnicity or religion and they absolutely condemned the killing of civilians in Israel and Palestine.
The group adds that they are pushing for both the Biden administration and all world leaders to honor those living in the Holy Land and to facilitate a ceasefire that would ensure the Israeli hostages are released and no more lives would be lost because of the bombings in Gaza.
Reports have indicated that more than 200 Israelis have been held hostage by Hamas in recent weeks. As of October 19, 32 Americans were confirmed dead with another 11 unaccounted for.
These members of the entertainment industry are not the only ones who have expressed their opinions on Israel and Hamas. A different group reportedly consisting of more than 300 well-known individuals also sent a letter to Biden on October 23, praising him for the way he’s handled the situation thus far. They said there should be no rest until all the hostages have been set free.
