(ConservativeHub.com) – Joe Biden plowed into Donald Trump’s border security measures with all the finesse of a runaway freight train. He canceled the construction of a border wall and revoked Trump’s declaration of a state of emergency at the nation’s southern border as soon as he arrived in office. As it turns out, that’s not the only damage Biden inflicted on national security that fateful day.
Fox News reported on April 28 that Biden also effectively knee-capped Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Department of Homeland Security issued interim guidance on January 20, inauguration day, directing ICE and Immigration officials to limit their border enforcement actions to individuals suspected of terrorism or espionage, anyone convicted of an “aggravated felony,” and recent border crossers.

If enforced, ICE officials predicted those new guidance measures would cut the number of arrests of illegal immigrants in half. Sadly, that prediction came true, with ICE reporting the arrest of fewer than 2,400 illegal immigrants in February, down from more than 5,800 in January and roughly 6,600 in December.
The migration crisis continues, with an unprecedented number of unaccompanied minors flooding the border. Biden assigned Vice President Kamala Harris to spearhead the administration’s efforts to secure the border weeks ago. While she says her goal is to address the “root causes” of migration, she hasn’t yet released the details of any plan, nor has she indicated any interest in visiting the border.
