(ConservativeHub.com) – When Betty White passed away from natural causes on December 31, she was just weeks shy of celebrating her 100th birthday. However, that’s not stopping her hometown in Illinois from celebrating the Golden Girls actress for her historic contribution to society.
On Saturday, January 15, White’s hometown of Oak Park, Illinois will host a celebration of her life, complete with a birthday cake, Golden Girls balloon awning, and Cindy Fee singing “Thank You for Being a Friend.” The city will also honor the iconic actress in the local newspaper and through a pet adoption event in the coming months.

Not only has Betty White left behind a legacy of kindness and spunk, but she was also always able to find humor and positivity in every situation. From her work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1970s to becoming one of America’s Golden Girls in the 80s, Betty White was a pioneer of the screen. While she may not have made it to 2022, hopefully, Americans can embody some of her grace, wit, and generosity as they move into another crazy year.
