(ConservativeHub.com) – Former Trump advisor Jason Miller attended Brazil’s recent CPAC conference to show his support for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and promote his new social media platform GETTR, a Conservative alternative to Twitter. However, he apparently became caught up in Brazil’s contentious political clashes on his way home.
On September 7, Brazilian authorities detained Miller for about three hours at Brasilia’s international airport. Local media outlet Metropoles reported federal police officers questioned Miller as part of an ongoing investigation into “anti-democratic acts.” Miller posted a brief statement about the incident on his Twitter account.

The Trump ally sat down for an interview with Fox News the following day. Miller became entangled in an ongoing feud between Bolsonaro and Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre De Moraes.
Curiously, he said federal police officers tried to get him to turn over the names of individuals working with him on his GETTR platform in Brazil. They also reportedly asked him whether he thought dissidents could use GETTR to stage an event in Brazil similar to the January 6 riot at the US Capitol Building. Miller said the question caught him off guard, considering he launched GETTR in July, almost six months to the day after that incident.
Miller concluded his interview by telling Fox News that, although his detainment had a “chilling effect” on him, he was “more motivated… than ever” because of the incident.
