DOJ RUNS From Justice – They Don’t Want To Pay Up!
(ConservativeHub.com) – A court ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to pay $230 million to victims of the 2017 Sutherland Springs church shooting. Former Air Force member Devin Kelley secured a gun and killed 26 people inside the First Baptist Church. The court ruled the government was at fault for failing to report Kelley’s dishonorable discharge, which would have barred him from purchasing the AR-556 rifle he used in the crime. But the DOJ doesn’t believe it should have to pay and is appealing the ruling.
Attorney Thomas J Henry told the New York Post the discovery process in the case showed the government had a repeated issue with properly reporting dishonorable discharges. He also pointed out that President Joe Biden has been pushing for stricter gun control since the Uvalde school shooting. Yet, he’s running a government that isn’t doing its part to take accountability for its failings.

Henry is also representing families affected by the Uvalde incident. He explained the two situations are similar, and not just because they occurred within the same state. The attorney pointed out authorities failed to do their jobs properly in both cases, costing people their lives. He hopes holding officials accountable will save lives in the future.
