(ConservativeHub.com) – On Tuesday, July 23, Vice President Kamala Harris held her first official campaign event as the potential leader of the Democratic presidential race. In her event in Wisconsin, she tried to rally supporters in the key state in order to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

While talking to a crowd of supporters in the Milwaukee area, Harris went after the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 which is an agenda focused on how a possible second Trump administration would look like. However, while many former Trump aides were part of the creation of the project, former President Donald Trump himself has distanced himself from it. Prior to dropping out, the Biden campaigned heavily against Project 2025.

Harris followed a similar line during her speech, arguing that the agenda was going to weaken the middle class and that this was something that they needed to consider seriously. She argued that she could not believe that they put Project 2025 in writing and that in its “900 pages,” they called for cutting Medicare and Social Security, putting an end to the Affordable Care Act, and providing more tax breaks for the wealthy.

She proceeded to call out that they would not be “going back.”

According to The Hill, many Democrats see this new campaign as one capable of of competing in the race, and this was reflected at the event. Due to the high number of people who wanted to attend the event, organizers switched to a larger venue on Monday.

During the event, Harris also announced that she was told that she had received support from enough delegates to become the party’s next nominee. The nominee will not be confirmed, however, until delegates vote next month.
