Woman Places Blame on Kathy Hochul After Daughter Is Killed
(ConservativeHub.com) – Many Democratic lawmakers and attorneys general have faced criticism for being too light on crime. In Buffalo, New York, one mother of three died after the court released her estranged husband with no bail. Now, the deceased woman’s mother blames the governor for her death.
In September, police arrested Adam Bennefield, 45, after his wife posted a lengthy video on social media of him beating her. However, on October 4, a judge followed the current law and released him from jail, despite his violent criminal history. Within 24 hours, the man allegedly confronted his wife, Keaira Bennefield, while she drove her three kids, aged six months to nine years, to school and shot her in front of them.

On Tuesday, November 1, the children’s grandmother, Tammy Hudson, told the New York Post that New York Governor Kathy Hochul “should be charged for the crime.” She believes the Democratic lawmaker is responsible because of her no-cash-bail policy. She spoke to the outlet about how her grandchildren were covered in blood after the incident, and how she feels and and Keaira Bennefield were “failed” by Hochul.
While Hochul continues to stand behind her reforms, she has admitted that they aren’t perfect. Recently, she and other officials have attempted to address crime concerns, such as with the recently announced “Cops, Cameras, Care” subway safety program. However, according to another NY Post report, when questioned by reporters about the policy, she chalked up the problem to “high-profile instances” that have created “fear in people’s minds.”
