Kidnapper Reportedly Left Note When He Took Child

( – Many mothers check on their children at night before they go to bed. That nightly bed check turned into her worst nightmare for one Minnesota parent. Shockingly, her 2-year-old was missing from his bed.

A complaint signed on Friday, March 17, alleged Victor Ramirez, 22, kidnapped a 2-year-old boy out of his bedroom in the middle of the night. The boy’s mother returned home from working a night shift and found her son missing, but none of the other family members in the house knew where he had gone. So, she called 911 at 4:29 a.m., and the police issued an AMBER Alert a little after 4:30 p.m. that same day.

During the investigation, authorities found footprints outside the boy’s bedroom window and a note asking for forgiveness for the kidnapping. The note also said there was a plan to take the boy. A tracking dog followed the boy’s scent to a nearby street before losing the trail. The mother also told police about a man who recently expressed interest in her and appeared “very fond of her son.” Officers found Ramirez after a few community tips, but not the boy. However, within the hour, a woman found the lost boy in her garage, unharmed, and buckled into his booster seat.

Fox 9 News Reporter Paul Blume shared information about the charges Ramirez is facing:

The kidnapper’s note suggests this man executed a premeditated plan to kidnap the boy. Thankfully, authorities returned him to his family unharmed.
