(ConservativeHub.com) – On Friday, June 23, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), gave his thoughts on efforts to impeach President Joe Biden, which have been on the rise in recent weeks. According to The Hill, he argued that if due process is ignored in President Joe Biden’s case, any impeachment would ultimately fail.

Graham argued that previously, Republicans slammed the Democrats for not “giving Trump any due process.” Now, he says Republicans are doing the same by getting impeachment articles straight on the House floor. He warned that these cases will be “dead on arrival.” As he pointed out, in the late 1990s, House Republicans had allowed a hearing to be held prior to former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment. This is a process that should be followed, he said, if Biden is accused of doing something worthy of impeachment. He proceeded to argue that the accusations should be taken through the committee so that Biden has a fair chance to respond.

Graham’s criticism followed Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) recent introduction of a privileged resolution that would force a vote within two days on impeaching Biden over how he has handled the U.S.-Mexico border.

Boebert’s resolution did not receive the necessary support from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and it has now been referred to the House Judiciary and Homeland Security committees. It is unlikely at this time that the resolution will move forward. In regards to Boebert’s resolution, McCarthy had stated that just putting a resolution out on the floor is harmful to their current investigations.
