(ConservativeHub.com) – On Thursday, August 10, federal prosecutors revealed that Dr. Sudipta Mohanty, 33, was arrested and charged following the allegations that he had acted inappropriately during a flight from Honolulu, Hawaii to Boston while seated next to a 14-year-old girl.

The flight in question was operated by Hawaiian Airlines. Mohanty is employed at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he works as a primary care physician. According to the criminal complaint, at around the halfway point of the flight, the 14-year-old girl saw Mohanty use a blanket to cover himself all the way to his neck.

A little while later, the blanket fell on the floor and was no longer covering the man, who was allegedly performing a vulgar act. According to prosecutors, the minor stated that Mohanty’s pants were unzipped.

For the remainder of the flight, the minor changed seats. The court filing also notes that Mohanty was on the flight with a female “companion” whom he had been making small talk with. According to the teen girl, the questions being asked were completely basic and included questions like, “What is your favorite color?”

Mohanty is now facing charges for lewd, indecent, and obscene acts. Mohanty has denied that the incident has taken place, adding that he has no recollection of such an event occurring.

FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge stated following an interview with Mohanty, that the arrest makes it clear that the FBI was going to seriously look into every incident that took place on an aircraft and urges people to report any such incidents.
