(ConservativeHub.com) – During the first four weeks of the New York hush money trial, former President Donald Trump’s ex-personal attorney Michael Cohen has been frequently attacked and called an “a**hole” or “jerk” who is hard to work with. Some people have even gone as far as to actively avoid him. However, on Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14, Cohen took the stand to serve as a witness in the trial.

Cohen was responsible for making the $130,000 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her remaining quiet about her alleged affair with Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election. The money for the payment had been funneled through a shell company in his name which he specifically opened for the payment.

He was also a key part in two “catch-and-kill” deals where he paid off people who were planning on sharing unflattering stories about the former President in order to keep the stories secret.

During his testimony early this week, Cohen provided details on a number of subjects, including on how Trump allegedly discussed paying him back for the money given to Daniels. Cohen reportedly testified that he only paid Daniels because of Trump’s 2016 campaign. He also said that he made the payment “on behalf” of Trump. In addition, Cohen reportedly confessed to false records and spoke about receiving largely payments for “minimal work.”

Reports have indicated that Trump’s legal team hopes to damage Cohen’s credibility as a witness. Cohen said, “Sure,” when questioned about whether he wants to see Trump convicted, which is in line with the heavy criticism he’s publicly lodged against the former president.

Cohen was scheduled to continue his testimony on Thursday.
