Migration Crisis Causes Strain in Multiple States

(ConservativeHub.com) – In Chicago and New York City, local officials in different suburban areas have been trying to stop buses carrying migrants from leaving them in their neighborhoods, according to a recent Fox News report.

In December, there was a new monthly record of more than 300,000 migrant encounters. The ongoing illegal immigration crisis which has led to many communities feeling the strain as the migrants are being carried north by bus.

Fox News reported that Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora from New Jersey stated that while they “empathize” with those who are trying to get asylum, they do not have the capacity to accommodate all of them.

Southern states, especially Texas, have been using airplanes and buses to transport migrants to states that are away from the border. The first busing operation was started last year by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who started to bus migrants to New York City and other sanctuary states. Since then, Abbott’s office has reported that they have sent approximately 27,000 migrants to New York City.

Mayor Sam Joshi of Edison, New Jersey, also put out a statement on social media noting that his administration would be chartering buses that would help transport the undocumented migrants left in the city back to the Texas border.

Some of the more rural communities in the area have revealed that they do not have the supplies or capabilities to care for the migrants who arrive at odd hours. According to Fox News, some highway signs have been put up in Illinois that say, “NO MIGRANT BUSES THIS EXIT.” Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley noted that as a rural community, they did not have a tax base that could support these migrants with the necessary resources.
