(ConservativeHub.com) – On Monday, July 22, former Vice President Mike Pence praised President Joe Biden over his recent decision to drop out of the presidential race and stated that both parties needed to “project calm” following the last few week’s events.

In a post on the social media platform X, Pence said that Biden had made the right choice for the country, placing the interests of the United States above his own. He said that following last week’s assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump and the recent decision by Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, it is time for both parties to project calmness in order to send a message of strength to America’s friends and enemies. According to him, it’s important to show that regardless of the state of the country’s politics, the American people continue to be strong and the military is standing in Defense of the country’s interests and freedom.

During Trump’s first administration, Pence was vice president. However, following the events of Jan. 6, 2021, his relationship with Trump grew strained and he became an increasingly divisive figure within the Republican Party.

In 2024, Pence ran an unsuccessful presidential campaign. However, after withdrawing from the race, he announced that he would not be endorsing Trump or Biden for the White House.

On Sunday, July 21, Biden announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race after a lot of pressure from elected Democrats to withdraw. Many democrats pointed to Biden’s weak performance during the presidential debate to express concern about him being in the race.

Minutes after dropping out of the race, Biden endorsed Harris as the party’s next nominee.
