Missing Girl Found Dead After Search

Missing Girl Found Dead - Arrest Made!

(ConservativeHub.com) – Parents and children often get into disagreements over boundaries, rules, or even just what’s for dinner. After one 7-year-old girl got upset with her stepmother, she took a few minutes to cool off in her room. However, the child was gone when her mom went to find her. What unfolded in the days to come was an absolute nightmare.

Around dinnertime on Wednesday, November 30, the parents of Athena Strand, 7, couldn’t find their daughter. At 5:45 p.m., they reported the girl missing to police, and authorities waited until the following morning to issue an Amber Alert, hoping she would show back up. When she didn’t, locals quickly joined in the search efforts to locate her. Sadly, they had not found her by Friday morning.

Then, police received a tip that eventually led them to find Strand’s body on Friday evening, just a few miles away from her home. The same day, they arrested Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, a FedEx driver who delivered a package just before the girl’s disappearance. Authorities are holding him on charges of aggravated kidnapping and capital murder.

According to CBS News, investigators believe the young girl died “within the very hour” Tanner took her from her home and confirmed they have a clear confession. The local police department investigated this heartbreaking case alongside the FBI, Texas Rangers, US Marshals, and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
