(ConservativeHub.com) – On Friday, May 26, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., faced a partially hostile crowd that responded aggressively to certain issues including the debt ceiling, immigration, and the war in Ukraine. While speaking to constituents in Corona, Queens, Ocasio-Cortez had to face a number of protesters who heckled and responded negatively to her remarks, while her supporters were trying to get them to quiet down.

One man, in particular, walked towards the representative holding an American flag and shouted that American citizens should be placed before migrants. According to a report from Fox News, he then proceeded to ask her where she stood on the migrant issue and stated that she is a “piece of s–t.” He also repeated the debunked claims that veterans were being removed from hotels in New York City in order for migrants to be accommodated. The man was reportedly removed by security.

A man who is a supporter of Ocasio-Cortez responded to the heckler’s claims, stating that he was an Iraq War veteran and that immigrants did not have anything to do with veterans. He added, “We all came through Ellis Island” and pointed out how things change with time.

When asked about the possibility of the U.S. defaulting on its debt on June 5, Ocasio-Cortez stated that she thought the Biden administration should try to completely eliminate the debt limit. She further argued that if they don’t increase the debt limit, it is going to lead to chaos within the economy.

She added that she did not agree with the Republicans having passed a $1.7 trillion tax cut that benefits some of the wealthiest people in the country.

At that point, some protesters yelled about how the U.S. has spent billions of dollars in foreign aid to Ukraine. Since Russia invaded its neighboring country in February 2022, the U.S. has spent approximately $40 billion in military aid.
