(ConservativeHub.com) – What do firearms, drugs, and an alligator have in common? Not much, but officers found all three during a traffic stop in Florida on April 8. According to a Facebook post, officers from the Collier County Sheriff’s Department pulled over a GMC Sierra truck driven by a man they had encountered before for driving without a license. But it was the passenger who ended up being the big loser in this incident.
The officers searched the vehicle and discovered a firearm under the passenger seat where Michael Marolla sat. Upon further inspection, they found another gun in the glovebox and a plastic tub containing a baby alligator in the truck bed. The officers then searched Marolla’s person, finding syringes containing methamphetamine in his jacket.

They placed the man under arrest, and he now faces multiple felony counts for carrying a hidden weapon, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) post didn’t note what happened with the driver or others in the vehicle.
Marolla was in jail until April 9, when he left on bail. He will return to court on May 2.
CCSO turned the alligator over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. They will take over the investigation into the animal. It is worth noting it is illegal to remove a live alligator from the wild without a proper license.
