(ConservativeHub.com) – Rumors that President Donald Trump will issue 100 or more pardons this week abound in mainstream media. Wanted in the United States for his role in the leak of military documents and cables over a decade ago, Assange submitted a formal request for a pardon on December 15, 2020, according to media reports.
What wasn’t known at that time was that several politicians, government officials, and current and former heads of state signed a letter attached to the request.
Politicians who signed the letter include Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and the former presidents of Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. Numerous celebrities and associates of President Trump also signed the letter, including Roger Stone, Dinesh D’Souza, and Pamela Anderson, to name a few. Doug Stafford, chief strategist for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and Gavin Wax, president of New York’s Young Republican Club, added their signatures as well.
Jimmy Dore: "The first person to be de-platformed was WikiLeaks and Julian Assange. If [Trump] knows what's good for freedom of speech and freedom of the press, he should take this moment and pardon Julian Assange."
Tucker Carlson: "I totally agree" #Assange pic.twitter.com/63aaxjfjw7— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) January 16, 2021
Political commentator Jimmy Dore discussed the importance of an Assange pardon with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on January 15. Both agreed that it would send a clear signal about the importance of freedom of speech and the press.
