Prince Andrew Reportedly Deletes Social Media Accounts Amid Scandal

( – Investigations are uncovering more information about the late pedofile Jeffery Epstein and his friends, including various politicians and celebrities like Prince Andrew. Now, the former royal is coming under scrutiny for his association with Epstein, especially after a judge approved a civil lawsuit for sexual assault to move forward against him. Even Buckingham Palace has stripped the royal of his titles. Now, it appears Prince Andrew is backing away from social media as well.

On Thursday, January 13, Prince Andrew’s “military affiliations and royal patronages” were officially taken back by the Queen. People should no longer refer to him as “His Royal Highness” and his social media accounts are now reflecting that.

The Duke of York’s official Twitter handle, @thedukeofyork, is no longer active. A Wall Street Journal report from Thursday afternoon says his Instagram and YouTube accounts are now also inactive.

The Mirror Royal shared updates about the prince on Twitter:

As the former Duke faces this civil lawsuit and backlash from a scathing ITV documentary that aired on Tuesday, January 18 about his close relationship with Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell, all eyes are on him. Although the deletion of Andrew’s social media accounts may make him less accessible to the public eye, he’ll likely continue to face major scrutiny in the coming weeks and months.
