Prosecutors Seeking at Least 30 Years of Prison for Ghislaine Maxwell

Ghislaine Maxwell SENTENCING Update – Prosecutors Step Forward!

( – In December, a jury found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of various counts of sex trafficking after agreeing she found, groomed, then abused many girls and young women to serve convicted pedophile Jeffery Epstein. Now, as she awaits her sentencing on Tuesday, June 28, prosecutors are pushing for her to spend decades behind bars.

On Tuesday, June 21, federal prosecutors filed paperwork asking the judge to give Maxwell between 30 and 55 years in prison for her crimes. According to the New York Post, the filing highlighted how she “left her victims permanently scarred with emotional and psychological injuries” that won’t heal. However, “It can be accounted for in crafting a just sentence for Maxwell’s crimes.”

The prosecutors’ proposed sentence is longer than the 20 years the US Probation Office recommended. It’s also much longer than the five years Maxwell’s lawyers are asking for, arguing she suffered abuse as a child and faces death threats behind bars.

Fair punishment is an essential part of the US justice system. Maxwell’s top count of sex trafficking girls under the age of 18 could carry a maximum sentence of 40 years. Maxwell will be 60 at the time of her sentencing; how many years do you think would be appropriate for her crimes?
