Far Left Announces Proposals to Move Biden
(RightWing.org) – Over the last few weeks, Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), tried to distance themselves from the far-left. That’s despite the far-left Democratic platform Biden signed onto to be a payment for their vote back in June. Now, there are new plans to help push Biden further left.
During Wednesday’s debate with Vice President Pence, Harris even denied the Green New Deal, a Biden/Harris policy their website states is the foundation for climate control, and that she authored in the Senate.
Don’t tell that to the far left. They don’t want to hear it, and they don’t believe it. In fact, they stated through the summer, and again this week, they believe Biden can be forced to the far-left agenda. Why wouldn’t they believe that?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and the “squad” acknowledge that Biden was not their choice. However, they say he’s better than President Trump. They know they can’t put pressure on Trump to fulfill their agenda. So, Biden is the next best thing, and they believe he’s weak enough to push around.
Activists Group Unveils Agenda
A new liberal extremist group titled “Working Families Party” was organized during the pandemic. The activist organization started to help progressives figure out how to enact policies that would provide COVID-19 relief and pave a way to economic recovery.
Some of the agenda items they want to force Biden to the left on include:
- Canceling rent and foreclosures
- Retroactive hazard pay for essential workers
- Delaying school opening nationwide
- Extending the $600 federal unemployment benefits
- Taxing billionaires and large corporations
- Cancellation of all student debt
- $15 minimum wage
- Public ownership of companies that receive bailouts
- Public purchase of oil and gas companies to enact climate change policies through companies instead of the government
Working Families Party National Director Maurice Mitchell said that “electing Biden was a doorway, not a destination.” They will be intent on forcing Biden to adhere to their policy initiatives. If he doesn’t, it isn’t clear what they can or will do, but they can make a lot of noise in the Democratic Party.
Congressional and Activist Ally’s
In addition to AOC, Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Ro Khanna (D-CA) signed onto the initiative. However, they are not alone. The Black Lives Matter organization, the SEIU union, United We Dream, and Sunrise Movement have also jumped on board.
Absent from the announcement of their movement, the Working Families Party didn’t discuss the cost of their initiatives. The group isn’t dealing with real solutions that help Americans, such as sound tax and regulatory policies that unleash job creation and innovation. Instead, the liberal group focuses on offering an expensive alternative that comes with potentially enormous consequences to the middle class through higher taxes across the board.
