(ConservativeHub.com) – The RNC is set to have a secret ballot on Friday which aims to help resolve the leadership struggle within the committee. Currently, the GOP is divided which has resulted in much upheaval and chaos.

RNC Chair McDaniel’s reelection bid has been going strong, but there are those within the party who prefer to support McDaniel’s main rival, Harmeet Dhillon. Dhillon, Trump’s attorney, has previously accused McDaniel of religious bigotry, misspending and claiming that she has control over Donald Trump. Most recently, she caught attention for issuing a warning to Republicans in a statement.

While McDaniel and Dhillon are considered the two main opponents for the position, My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell has also gained enough support to earn a spot on the ballot.

Trump himself has not endorsed anyone publicly, claiming that both McDaniel and Dhillon are highly skilled. Still, a report from The Associated Press suggested he’s privately advocating for McDaniel, who has held the chair position since 2016.

McDaniel has faced quite a lot of backlash lately, as many have been blaming her for the recent unsuccessful elections and the struggles that the party has had to face. Dhillon also pointed out that the majority of GOP voters wanted to see someone new heading the GOP.

She also warned that there would be consequences for any of the elected members who chose to support McDaniel’s reelection bid, despite the fact that the Republicans in their state wanted to see someone else lead the committee.

AP reported that in response, McDaniel noted that Dhillon’s statement appeared to be threatening. She condemned the aggressive statement and said that it was these types of attacks that had led to divisions and problems within the committee.
