(ConservativeHub.com) – Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis can be devastating. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s (R) wife received the terrible news in October. However, her husband recently gave an update on her condition.
On March 3, DeSantis proudly proclaimed his wife, Casey, is cancer-free. The governor announced the good news via Twitter in a video and thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers, saying the support “lifted her spirits.” He encouraged other women who are dealing with breast cancer to keep fighting the disease.

Florida’s first lady shared her husband’s video on Twitter, telling other breast cancer fighters to “have faith and stay strong.” She also expressed her gratitude to have made it this far in her recovery.
DeSantis revealed his wife’s diagnosis in October. Casey has kept an upbeat attitude, saying she would beat the disease after the initial announcement. Mrs. DeSantis underwent surgery and other cancer treatments. The governor said she continues treatments, but that he is “confident” she will fully recover.
The couple has three young children under the age of five. DeSantis notably took time off to be by his wife’s side during her treatment despite his rising status within the Republican party. He is currently seeking reelection in the fall.
