Russia Labels Ukrainian Regiment a Terrorist Organization

New Russian WAR STRATEGY? – Ukraine Military Shocker!

(ConservativeHub.com) – Governments and leaders don’t limit war tactics solely to military movements and efficient equipment usage. They also use words to influence battles and boost or deflate troop morale. In Russia’s case, the nation’s Supreme Court designated a Ukrainian battalion as a terrorist organization to further its agenda.

On Tuesday, August 2, Russia’s highest court called the Azov Regiment, a former volunteer battalion that joined the Ukraine National Guard in 2014, a terrorist organization, saying its members have White supremacist leanings and neo-Nazi ideology. The group has mainly defended eastern Ukraine since the war broke out, including the city of Mariupol, which eventually fell to Russian soldiers after nearly three months of intense fighting.

This announcement allows Russia to punish prisoners of war belonging to the group as terrorists according to its laws, forcing them to spend up to 10 years in jail or 20 if they had a leadership position within the group.

According to The Associated Press, the Azov condemned the move, saying the nation was “looking for new excuses and explanations for its war crimes.” The leaders also called upon Ukrainian allies to designate the larger nation or its military as a terrorist regime in the ongoing battle.

In response to Russia’s latest move, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a video address. He slammed it as “absurd” and claimed that Russia only designated Azov a terrorist group because Russia itself is a terrorist state.
