(ConservativeHub.com) – Police and their families understand the risk officers undertake each shift to protect and serve their communities. Too often, families must cope, knowing they’ve lost their loved one in the line of duty. Corporal Ray Hamilton’s family received the unimaginable news on Christmas Eve in Florida.
On December 24, Officer Hamilton arrived at a townhouse in Fort Walton Beach to serve a warrant to Timothy Price-Williams for a domestic violence charge. However, Price-Williams refused to come out of his residence to speak with officers. Eventually, someone shot a firearm from inside the house, hitting Hamilton. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was also injured during the incident.

On Monday, December 26, a motorcade procession that included officers and first responders from several counties and the state patrol brought Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Ray Hamilton home from Pensacola. Fellow officers stand vigil over their fallen peer until his family lays him to rest. Hamilton had served in his area for five years.
Prince-Williams was originally checked into the hospital due to his injuries, but has since been released and is currently in jail pending his first hearing. Prosecutors have charged Price-Williams with premeditated murder.
